About FLOW for All
Forces Literary Organisation Worldwide — an organisation helping anyone affected by war and other traumatic experiences share their thoughts in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
You can do so anonymously, under a pseudnym or use your real name...it's totally up to you. Many people find asking for help difficult, do not wish to be identified, or their personal pride prevents them from sharing their feelings with their family, friends or work colleagues. So write however you like — you can always change at a later date.
A Bit More Background
FLOW (Forces Literary Organisation Worldwide) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) registered as SC050666. We aim to help and support anyone affected by war and other traumatic experiences, and to help them share their thoughts online with like-minded people.
Anyone affected by trauma — serving military personnel, veterans, their friends and family, or anyone who simply wants to express themselves — is invited to share their feelings and thoughts in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
This process is extremely therapeutic for the writer and lets others realise that like-minded people exist with similar feelings and emotions.
What we publish
It doesn't need to be about your own trauma. You can write about whatever you want that may impact mental health — poems, stories, letters and lyrics are all welcome. Don't worry about spelling or grammar; we want your words, in your way, exactly as you write them.
We hope to publish books of poems, stories, letters and lyrics every year, celebrating the work of those who share their writing with us. Full credit is always given to the named writer. FLOW reserves the right to publish any writing submitted in its books and other publications.
All the publications found on FLOW and its associated websites belong entirely to the authors. The authors we show as owning the writing are taken from the names we are given, and we accept these as honest and correct. We take no responsibility for incorrect credit of any work. If you know of a piece of work which does not belong to the stated author, please contact us us and we will investigate further.

Our funding
FLOW presently runs on the generous time provided by its volunteer staff. To grow, we know we must gain sufficient funding to employ full-time paid staff to carry out the work we must do.
As a registered charity, all contributions and proceeds from fundraising efforts go directly back into the organisation so we can continue supporting those who need it. All the proceeds from our grants, books and other fundraising activities go directly into FLOW to help pay for our long-term goals, minimal running costs, and eventually wages of staff as we grow larger.
Contributions can be made through our website, or alternatively you can contact us to hold a fundraiser of your own.
About Our Late Patron
Dame Vera Lynn CH DBE kindly became our patron in 2008. She passed away on 18 June 2020 at her home in East Sussex, aged 103.
In her memory, we continue to be a light in the darkness for all those who have suffered trauma, especially from war.
